4/26/08 - We're back from the Bahamas!

Had our last afternoon of "sundowners" with the crew in Bimini, took pictures and traded contact information. Hopefully we'll get the pleasure of seeing some of them again.

Slipped the lines around 6:30am for our trip back across the Atlantic. Had a good day! Winds were on our stern, with 1 - 2 ft. seas and moderate swells (of course it was nice that the stabilizers did their job).

We came into the channel in Miami around noon, tied up in a marina, got a cab and cleared customs without a hitch. What luck!

We are on the hook off of Key Biscayne, with Miami in the background (what a view at night!). Will be heading a little further down Biscayne Bay over the next few days.

4/21 - 4/25/08...What a great place!!

We're still in Bimini at the Bluewater Marina and have been having a blast. The weather has been perfect except that the winds have been too strong for us to head out for another location or to come home (man we really hate that!) The breeze does makes it nice for hanging around the docks, swimming pool and cruising around town by golf cart or on foot. The view of the Atlantic and the Great Bahama Banks is awesome

We have hooked up with a fantastic group of sailors from Canada and Nova Scotia (4 boats - oops! - add 1 more we're up to 5) and another 2 guys on a trawler. We're out numbered, but we're holding our own and having a great time. We have been getting together in the afternoons for "sundowners" and cook-outs and it has been a blast! This is the best part of cruising - the people you meet and the stories they tell. By the end of the night we go back to the boat with our jaws and sides aching from laughing so hard.

Right now we are all waiting on calm seas to cross back to the states. Looks like we are shooting for Saturday or Sunday to head west back to Florida.

4/20/08.....we made it !!!

Had a good forecast so we pulled out of Bahia Mar at 6:30am and finally headed east. The weather was perfect and the seas were 1-2 ft. as predicted. The water was beautiful and the trip was great. We came into North Bimini and are docked at Blue Water Marina for a few days. We plan to rent a golf cart (the main mode of transportation) for the afternoon to do some exploring around the island. Of course there will be some "dinkin & drinkin" a little later.

4/12 - 4/19/08

Anchored @ Peck's Lake Sat. night and Lake Worth Sun. night, too much wind to head east for the next several days.

4/15 & 4/16 - Relocated to Cannonsport Marina to pick up Steve and Rose and wait for the winds to settle. We made the decision to pass on making the crossing to The Abacos.
4/17 - Headed south, dropped the hook @ Delray Beach (Roundhole)
4/18 & 4/19 - Moved on south to Ft. Lauderdale - Bahia Mar Marina (for those of you that are Travis McGee fans, this was the home of the "Busted Flush", slip F-18), the mega-yachts here are unbelievable! The weather is improving daily, so we came up with a "Plan B" - Bimini & the Berry Islands. Looks like we have a great forecast for tomorrow!

4/12/08..........and we're off !!!!!!

Slipped the lines for the last time at Harbortown Marina. Leaving was bittersweet. Although it's been a lot of work getting "Conched Out Too" ready we're finally heading out for our cruise and to take her home.

We've accomplished a lot, but could not have done it without the group of professionals we've had the pleasure of working with over the last several months. The greatest part has been the support we've received and the friendships that have developed along the way with the crew from F-Dock (aka "Fun Dock"). Had a great send off Friday night before we left, what a great group!
